Industrial automation is the key technology that enables the fourth industrial revolution (I4.0). To this end the NWU provides an opportunity for everyone ranging from School learners and students to staff working in industry to develop the required skills to engage with automation technology.

The Industrial Automation Training Centre (IATC) at the NWU is uniquely positioned to:
 
  • Provide industry recognised, certified training courses developed by Siemens
  • Present customised short-courses suited to specific industries’ requirements
  • Certify that a course attendee is competent to apply the knowledge gained

The IATC  was established in 2019 in partnership with Siemens. The partnership with Siemens positions the IATC to present automation courses that is recognised world-wide. Our trainers are certified Siemens instructors and hold various technical degrees, many of which are advanced electrical, electronic, or computer engineering degrees.
