At the NWU Faculty of Engineering, we offer postgraduate study options from a Postgraduate Diploma through to Doctoral qualifications across various engineering fields.
Postgraduate: Diploma qualifications
All the relevant information about the different Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) programmes can also be found in the PGDip Yearbook.

The PGDip in Industrial Engineering equips engineers with modern analytical and process-improvement skills to optimise performance, efficiency, and competitiveness in complex organisations.

The PGDip in Nuclear Science and Technology with Nuclear Technology Management provides the theoretical foundation required for advanced nuclear engineering study, with a focus on reactor science and nuclear systems.

The PGDip in Industrial Engineering with Sustainability and the PGDip in Industrial Engineering with Sustainable Mining train engineers to redesign industrial systems that balance economic performance with environmental and social responsibility.
Postgraduate: Master’s and Doctoral qualifications
All official information on the Faculty’s Master of Science (MSc), Master of Engineering (MEng) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees is available in the Postgraduate Yearbook.
Prospective postgraduate students must first complete a pre-application and then identify a suitable supervisor within the relevant school before applying.
